World’s Most Expensive Bluefin Tuna

An extraordinary bluefin tuna was caught off the coast of Northern Japan and was auctioned off this week in the country’s first fish auction of the year. It was an amazing 593 lbs and  sold at a record 56.49 million yen or $736,234 beating last year’s record about two-fold. A sushi shop in Tsujiki has been selling the prized fish for $5.45 apiece. That’s a whole lot of sushi!
