Wolfgang Puck Trashes Starbucks Coffee While Promoting His New Iced Coffee

Wolfgang Puck has never been a quiet chef, and never has that been more apparent than his recent promotional tour for his bottled iced coffee blends. On a recent stop in Houston, he was quoted piping his opinion on the Starbucks brand, “But it’s terrible coffee! Like when I fly on United Airlines they say, ‘We proudly serve Starbucks coffee.’ I said they should say, ‘We are embarrased to serve Starbucks coffee.’

Apart from his opinion on the coffee giant, the Austrian chef has crafted an Organic Cold Brewed Iced Coffee that boasts Organic Espresso and is certified Organic & Kosher. The drink’s website presents a skewed comparison of calories, total fat, and sugar content to Starbucks’ Frappuccino product, something that’s not necessarily the same product, or even similar.

Regardless, the new line of iced coffees come in four flavors out of the gate — Crème Caramel, Café au Lait, Double Blend Mocha, and Vanilla Fusion. It’s important to note that this isn’t Puck’s only foray into the coffee business. His brews are stocked at hotels and offices, as well as at his Wolfgang Puck Express restaurants at airports and hospitals.
