Sneaky Shipment Hid Over A Ton Of Weed Inside Fake Carrots

Someone’s going to be really mad that their shipment never made it to the produce section, especially since that innocent-looking shipment carried a literal ton of weed, meticulously hidden inside fake carrots, according to CNN.

Over in Pharr, Texas, where everything is bigger, 2,493 pounds of hippie lettuce was seized by US border officers, as nearly 3,000 carrot shaped packages were being transported over the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge.

They really did look like carrots, though, so much so that they made it past first inspection, but a second inspection led to the big reveal.

There were so many fake carrots, Customs was able to fill two truck beds with them. That’s enough carrots to feed

This particular checkpoint in Texas seems to be a popular spot for drug-filled carrots as US Customs posted a photo of a similar incident last month on Instagram. In this case, they were actually carrots, but hidden inside were 164 pounds-worth of weed and cocaine.

Just a healthy snack? No! #CBP officers found 164 pounds of cocaine hidden in this shipment of carrots. Good eyes! #bordersecurity #lawenforcement

Somewhere in a maximum-security prison, El Chapo is pissed. Probably.
