Watch Domino’s Deliver Pizza By Jetpack To Music Festival-Goers

Domino’s revealed the jetpack-powered future of pizza delivery during this year’s Glastonbury Festival. In a partnership with Gravity Industries, the idea was inspired by the festival’s headliner, and original rocket man, Elton John.

According to The Independent, festival-goers were amused and bemused by the spectacle as a Domino’s delivery pilot flew across the grounds to hand people orders. One onlooker named Natalie Dixon shared her surprise, “Seeing a jet suit thing fly over Glasto was wild. I’ve never seen a jet suit, let alone one delivering pizzas. I can’t wait to see one land on my doorstep in the future.”

Domino’s PR manager Sam Wilson told The Independent, “When we realized pitching up to serve slices inside the festival was impossible, we took inspiration from this year’s headliner to launch our own rapid delivery trial — it was a bit of a no brainer. Every year we see huge numbers of random requests from festival goers trying to sneak pizza into the party. So, this year we wanted to take a giant step towards and trial our very own rocket man service to help hungry campers get a slice of sky-high satisfaction in the future.”

While there aren’t any plans to roll out jetpack delivery nationwide, Wilson believes the idea in its current stage “has legs…or wings…or jets.” Gravity Industries’ jetpacks cost anywhere from $480,000 and up, so it’ll likely remain a fun novelty.
