Truck Collision Creates Impromptu Fajitas Grill Sesh On I-95 Freeway

When two semi trucks full of meat and onions collide on the freeway, you can’t help but 1) hope that the drivers are safe, and 2) wonder how far back the tortilla truck was.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, at approximately 3:30 AM, Pierre McClain, the driver of a meat truck, fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed into an onion truck at about 70 to 80 miles per hour. Due to the force of the collision, the onion truck came apart and spilled onions and fuel all over the highway, causing road damage and major traffic delays that took about seven and a half hours to clear up.

McClain’s truck also took a hit as its transmission completely dropped out of the vehicle and left him trapped in the cab until he was freed. Despite the impact, none of the meat spilled out of the truck.

Leonel Vasquez Suarez, the onion truck driver, as well as his passenger, left the scene unharmed.

The meat truck driver was later taken to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach and reportedly suffering serious injuries.
