You Need To Know About Australia’s TIM TAM SLAM Trend [WATCH]

A few days ago, Elise Strachan, the host of one of YouTube’s largest baking channels (MyCupcakeAddiction) came through our kitchen to show us how to do a Tim Tam Slam (also to make Beer Pong Cake Pops).

As we learned, a Tim Tam is a popular brand of chocolate biscuit made by Arnott’s, a popular Australian snack food company. The cookie is made up of two layers of chocolate malted biscuits separated by a light cream filling and coated in a thin layer of textured chocolate. The result is an awesome cookie straw of sorts when you bite off the diagonal ends.

The Tim Tam Slam

The Tim Tam Slam (Wikipedia also cites it being called the Tim Tam Shotgun, Tim Tam Bomb or the Tim Tam Explosion) occurs when you bite off the diagonal ends of the cookie and use it sip a hot drink to slurp up Hot Chocolate or a Coffee. The cookie will quickly become soggy and force you (oh, poor you) to ‘slam’ the entire thing into your mouth before it falls apart in your hand.

It’s an amazing way to start the morning.

Thanks for the Australian initiation Elise:
