This Prominent Pizza Place Is Selling 5-Cent Whole Pizzas For Its Birthday

Lombardi’s Pizza in New York is celebrating its 110th birthday today and is turning up to the tune of five-cent pizzas. Yes, whole pizzas.

According to AMNY, one of the oldest pizza shops in the US will be cranking out its pies until 11pm ET, as their customers could drop $5 and throw a crazy pizza party. Just kidding. Obviously you can only buy one small Margherita pizza and have to be dining in.

The Margherita is the little shop’s best seller and its toppings consist of the simple ingredients of cheese, tomato sauce and basil.

Lombardi’s had this promotion 10 years ago for its 100th anniversary and sold well over 2,500 pizzas throughout the day.

To put in perspective how old Lombardi’s really is, when first opened in 1905, not only was their pizza five cents, but Teddy Roosevelt was US President, Las Vegas officially became a city, and Albert Einstein was busy being a genius.

Oh, yeah. Lombardi’s accepts cash only. So if you only have a card, hopefully your friends like you enough to spot you a nickel.
