This Hotel Made A Door-Shaped Cake For Hodor From Game Of Thrones

Game of Thrones is arguably the most compelling drama on television right now, and will likely end its run in a few years as one of the greatest shows of all time. With its high production value and almost excessively engaging storyline, this epic series could very well “hold the door” for others to follow suit. Honestly though, I doubt it.

Kristian Nairn, the popular Irish DJ and actor that portrays the beloved character Hodor, was pleasantly surprised when he checked into his room and found a delightful little pastry made especially for him by Rachel Newman, the exceedingly talented pastry chef at the W Hotel.

The small chocolate cake is an amazing recreation of the door Hodor kept barricaded while bitchass Bran escaped the wights of the White Walkers. The cake is highly detailed, so much so that Newman carefully shaped each vine surrounding the door, then meticulously and precisely drew the cracks in the wood in the door.

Nairn, having a big heart both on and off the screen, graciously offered Isaac Wright (Bran) a piece of his cake, despite the fact that he is the reason Hodor was killed. Nairn’s instagram caption wrote, “Even after all he’s done 😉 still willing to give him some of my cake <3,” It just goes to show how much of a gentleman Hodor truly was.

Now there’s an angel waiting for you in heaven, only this time, they’re holding the door for YOU, Hodor. Rest in peace, friend.
