This Amazing Non-Stick Coating Solves the Problem of Stubborn Ketchup Flow

For your daily dose of amazing, let me introduce you to LiquiGlide, a surface coating that liberates notoriously unfluid ketchup from its glass or plastic-walled containers.

Ketchup, mayonaise, mustard, I can only imagine the amount of condiments I’ve cumulatively wasted over the years by throwing away bottles with residue still sticking to the edges of the respective bottles.

Extraction of ketchup and other condiments has long been a point of interesting discussion. Everyone has their “proven” method, whether it be through the use of a butter knife, spanking the bottom of the container or calling your bottle of Heinz a “little stubborn bitch!”

These conversations may soon be a thing of the past. The new super slippery, non-toxic coating keeps condiments from sticking to the sides of glass and plastic. The end result means that ketchup, mustard and mayo will slip right out of the bottle and onto your food.

This new coating, developed by a team at MIT’s Varanasi Research Group, came in second in MIT’s $100K Entrepreneurship Challenge. Let’s be frank, if this product works half as well as these videos (below) lead us to believe, whatever won first place in that Entrepreneurship Challenge must somehow be able to teleport us into 2093, and back.

Here’s ketchup coming out of a LiquiGlide coated bottle.

Keep your jaw off the floor, silly:

Here’s the same treatment to mayo, also with and without the LiquiGlide treatment:
