These Sneakerhead-Inspired Cookies Are Detailed And Decadent

Food is one of the most inspiring things in the world. Its ability to shape-shift and take on endless forms makes it the perfect medium for creativity. Take Edible Canvas, a handcrafted cookie maker I stumbled upon on Instagram.

Seemingly inspired by pop culture, their cookies range from classics like gingerbread men to unique concepts like fashion brand logos. Each is painstakingly crafted and super detailed — they even nail precise recreations of fonts and material textures. Edible Canvas’ skill truly shines through in their sneaker replica cookies though.

The unknown mastermind behind these creations must be a true sneakerhead to bake up these inspired pastries. Clearly fans of New Balance 990s, Edible Canvas has taken classic styles from sneaker collabs with Kith and JJJJound, and made them into deliciously decadent treats. No detail is missed; shoes strings have shape, its “leather” has texture, and seams have the appearance of being stitched. The best part, of course, is that everything is edible.

Their love for sneakers doesn’t stop at New Balance, as even Jordans have been graced by their cookie craftsmanship. What makes it even better are the tiny trinkets Edible Canvas makes to accompany their sneaker cookies, almost like a steezy theme.  The Jordans are joined by a North Face trench, Carhartt beanie and NYC Metro card, giving Big Apple vibes. Sticking even closer to a theme, their Aimé Leon Dore New Balance cookies also feature the popular New York brand’s clothing and accessories in cookie form.
