The ‘Unofficial Mayor of Koreatown’ Drops A Love Letter To LA’s Hidden Gems In New Video Series

Los Angeles isn’t just a city—it’s a rhythm, a pulse, a collection of voices that tell the story of generations. It’s where cultures don’t just meet but collide, creating something bigger than the sum of their parts. Where a food truck on the corner isn’t just a late-night stop, but a place where history, identity, and community are served up on a paper plate. Where We Going is a new video series that captures that essence—the soul of LA through its food, its people, and the stories that hold it all together.

At the center of it is Mike Pak, the “Unofficial Mayor of Koreatown,” a title that speaks less to power and more to presence. For years, he’s moved through the city not just as an observer, but as a bridge—building connections through food, running, and projects rooted in community. Presented by Pabst Blue Ribbon, Where We Going is his love letter to LA, tracing its heartbeat through underground spaces, neighborhood institutions, and the creatives who shape its spirit.

The series debuted on February 10, launching an eight-episode season with a second already in the works. This isn’t just about restaurants or street food—it’s about the spaces where culture is made. Expect intimate moments inside historic eateries, unfiltered conversations with local legends, and a look at the subcultures that often go unseen. From a sex shop to a secret ping-pong tournament, from a food truck window to the back rooms where art, music, and fashion are quietly changing the city.

“LA is where cultures and communities collide in the most beautiful ways,” Pak says. “We’ve been working on this show for months, but with everything the city has faced recently, it felt important to celebrate LA and the places and people that make it special. Food is just the start—this series is about connection, creativity, friendship, and a love for the city.”

The first episode follows Brainfreeze, an artist whose work bleeds color into the fabric of the city, as he takes Pak through his personal landmarks—Café Tropical, Bodega Park, and the places that shaped his craft. Future episodes highlight Drew Pulig, Joey Barba, Aaron Kai, and NEENA, each of them bringing their own perspective to the table, revealing a side of LA that can’t be Googled, only lived.

If anyone is built to tell this story, it’s Pak. His work—Koreatown Run Club, Love Hour, Excel The Youth, Bicycle Meals—has never been about business or branding. It’s always been about people. With Where We Going, he’s not just documenting LA’s culture—he’s preserving it, one conversation, one meal, one moment at a time.ng, he’s documenting LA’s culture in real time, preserving it one conversation, one meal, one moment at a time.
