For One Day Only You Can Try This Mac and Cheese Stuffed Soulritto
Will the food mash-ups never cease to keep amazing us? We thought we’d seen it all with the orange chicken and chow mein stuffed burrito but a burrito stuffed with soul food? Sorcery.
Created as a collaboration between Picadilly Catering and Restaurant and renowned San Francisco restaurant Papalote Mexican Grill, the burrito is a perfect fusion of Mexican and soul food. The two restaurant owners happened to run into each other and decided to join forces to create something truly delicious. Papalote owner Miguel Escobar describes how the idea came about:
The formula for a delicious burrito — a starch, a protein, and a green or vegetable — was right there! We had a taste test day and we realized what a winner we had on our hands.
The soul food burrito aptly named the “Soulritto” is filled with the soul food essentials: tri-tip, yams, collard greens, and the kicker, salsa infused macaroni and cheese. *insert heavy breathing cat meme here*
Though something this amazing should be available 24/7, The Soulritto is only available today starting at 11am until they sell out. Head on over to Papalote’s Mexican Grill location in the Mission District to grab one for $11.25, there’s also a vegetarian version available with soyrizo for $9.10 but vegetarians, just take one for the team this time. It’s okay, the cow totally wanted to be part of this epic burrito.
