The Most Popular Starbucks Drinks in the United States May Surprise You

Starbucks analysts crunched the chain’s millions of transactions across the US to find which drinks are the most popular by volume sold. Quartz reports that the “country can be divided along the cold-hot axis,” as Florida, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Southern California order more iced coffee than hot coffee. Makes sense. Although, it’s worth it to note that states where it broils in the summer — Louisiana, Alabama, Virginia, Mississippi, etc. — don’t have a preference for coffee on the rocks.

They also determined that Starbucks patrons in Seattle — the location of the coffee behemoth’s first ever store — are more likely than other cities to add an extra espresso shot to their coffee. Along with residents in San Antonio, Texas, Los Angelenos drink the most frappuccinos, while those in San Diego have a peculiar taste for green tea frapps.

Other cities are just as specific, with Portland, Oregon consuming the most eggnog lattes and white chocolate mochas winning over Memphis, Tennessee. Click the image above for a closer look.
