Del Taco Drops A New Taco With DOUBLE THE CHEESE

The US has a MASSIVE cheese surplus on its hands and Del Taco has taken action with its debut of The Del Taco, a crunchy taco worthy of the brand’s name.
The new taco has DOUBLE the amount of the freshly hand grated cheddar cheese as the Classic Taco and is inspired by the build of the original hard shell taco first served back in 1964. The Del Taco also features a bigger, corn shell loaded with more seasoned beef or turkey, along with plenty of crisp lettuce and hand chopped tomatoes.
“We’re going back to basics by proudly paying homage to the taco that started it all,” said John Cappasola, Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer. “We believe The Del Taco is the greatest tasting taco we’ve ever served.”
In fact, there’s so much cheese at Del Taco that they had no problem commissioning this glorious work of food artistry from one of the same 40 lb. blocks of cheese they grate in every one of their restaurants daily. With a philosophy that fresh cheddar just tastes better, Del Taco goes through approximately 360 million lbs of cheese a year.
The Del Taco also takes the #1 spot on the combo menu, the option coming with two Del Tacos, fries and a drink. But, the extra cheesy Del Taco satisfies on its own for just $1.39 each at participating locations starting today.
