The California Benedict — Eggs Benedict Gets the West Coast Treatment

Menu creators across the country often use the term ‘California’ to add a particular flair to some of their restaurant offerings, with the usual move including some integration of avocados to a staple dish.

Food blogger Nick who muses that his kitchen work is akin to being the indie rock of the foodiesphere, has put his own twist on the Eggs Benedict, two-ways.

Both of his California Eggs Benedict creations feature a slice of sourdough bread in place of the traditional English muffin.

The first piece pays homage to the plethora of quality street tacos available throughout the state by topping the slice of bread with carne asada steak, a poached egg and Hollandaise sauce.

The second piece plays to the popularity of sushi in the state, featuring the same ingredients as the previous dish, but substituting the carne asada with fresh sashimi grade tuna.

If you had to chose between only one of the two California Benedict creations to try, which would you settle on? Sound off in the comments!
