Restaurant Rips New England Patriots with the ‘Brady Deflatey’ Hot Dog

Super Bowl XLIX is this Sunday and a hot dog restaurant in Charlotte, NC, called JJ’s Red Hots found a good way to poke fun at the two Super Bowl teams.

The “news” story that the New England Patriots illegally deflated their footballs in order to gain an advantage last week against the Indianapolis Colts has been the talk of the sports world leading into the big game, and JJ’s restaurant is honoring the Pats with a new hot dog.

The Brady Deflatey dog consists of Boston-style baked beans, bacon, onions and brown mustard, with a copy of the league’s rule book at its side.

Of course, the name is poking fun at Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who has had to publicly explain that he did not mess with the air pressure of the footballs.

Not quite as controversial, but still in the news was Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch, who grabbed a handful of his own hot dog while celebrating a touchdown in the Seattle Seahawks’ previous game. In honor of Lynch, JJ’s created the Beast Mode Mother Lode, which consists of whipped cream cheese, sautéed peppers, sriracha and sesame seeds, served with a fun-size pack of Lynch’s favorite snack, Skittles.

As a Seahawk-hating 49er fan, I can’t help but say, GO PATRIOTS.
