TGI Fridays Takes a Leap of Faith, Does $10 Endless Appetizers

What: Buy one appetizer for $10 and get refills on same appetizer. Includes: Loaded Potato Skins, Pan-Seared Pot Stickers, Mozzarella Sticks, Garlic & Basil Bruschetta, Tuscan Spinach Dip, Boneless Buffalo Wings, Crispy Green Bean Fries.

Where: At participating restaurants.

When: Now ’til August 24, 2014.

PS: It’s a tricky move for the 40-year-old chain. TGIF is known for its popular appetizer line, so regulars who typically order them anyway will, of course, opt for the bargain instead.”Never ever discount a signature branded item,” Chris Muller, hospitality professor at Boston University, tells USA Today.

It’s a risk the company is willing to make, however, in order to attract younger clientele who often shy away from casual-dining restaurants like TGIF, in favor of slightly healthier, budget-friendly fast casual chains like Chipotle.
