TAZO Aims to Give Back to the Planet & People with New Regenerative Tea Line
Sustainably focused tea brand TAZO continues its efforts to be better and do better with its newest line of regenerative tea blends. As TAZO’s first teas to be USDA Organic and made with Rainforest Alliance Certified and Fair Trade USA Certified ingredients, they’re the first step towards a planned multiyear portfolio transition.
Regenerative organic agriculture is a form of farming that involves rehabilitating soil, respecting animal welfare, and improving the lives of farmers. This is in stark contrast to traditional industrial farming methods which account for 25% of emissions and contribute to our ongoing climate crisis.
This transition falls in line with TAZO’s larger goal of challenging the status quo to better society and improve the health of our planet. To ensure they meet their goals, the brand has set the following milestone dates:
- By 2023, they will ensure that priority materials are sourced from deforestation-free suppliers, and by 2025, will be committing to 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable packaging.
- By 2026, they are aiming to have 100% of ingredients meet responsible sourcing and Fair-Trade standards.
TAZO’s new regenerative tea relaunch consists of its four original tea blends, which were first brewed in 1994. The four original tea flavors are Regenerative Organic ZEN™, Regenerative Organic Awake® English Breakfast, Regenerative Organic Chai, and Regenerative Organic Darjeeling. Each still retains the amazing taste they’re known for.
The brand has also created a TikTok video ad that will donate $1 for every view (up to $250,000) to Rodale Institute, a non-profit and global leader in regenerative organic agriculture for 70+ years. Through 1% for the Planet, the donation will help fund the research and farmers’ transitions to regenerative organic practices as part of TAZO’s 2022 $1.475M commitment to mission-aligned organizations.
TAZO’s new Regenerative Organic Teas are now available online and at participating retailers.
