Tapatío-flavored Frito-Lay Products In Stores Now

Last month we announced that Frito-Lay brand had plans for a well-suited partnership with the Tapatío hot sauce brand. Today Frito-Lay announced three products in the line: Tapatío-flavored Doritos tortilla chips, Fritos corn chips and Ruffles potato chips. Each chip gets a special treatment and has a distinct level of Tapatío intertwined into the recipe.

The Ruffles variety includes a touch of lime juice, giving it a tangy element unavailable to the other varieties in the line. Along for the ride are the Doritos Tapatío, arguably the strongest flavor profile of the three new products, using nacho cheese as a base and heavy, blatant flavor. Lastly, the Fritos Tapatío utilize their now memorable twisty chips blending corn flavor with the famous hot sauce.

The new products are rolling out in grocery and convenience stores in the western and central regions of the U.S. this month, with suggested retail pricing of $0.99 for the small bags and $2.99 for the large bags. Here’s some quick footage of us tasting the new products, and betting on which of the three flavors will be our favorite:
