Take Back the Value Meal: $5 Slow Food Challenge

Think you can you eat well on a $5 budget? Take this Slow Food challenge, and show how much good food you can make and eat at home for less than the number 1 from any drive-thru.

The challenge launches September 17th with a Day of Action, where hundreds of slow food gatherings will take place all across the country. The goal is to get as many people as possible to commit to making a meal using whole ingredients instead of processed foods. People who take the challenge are encouraged to register their events and stories at slowfoodusa.org.

The Slow Food movement is making headway in food conscious cities such as San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle. Join the cause and educate yourself as well as others about healthier and more sustainable eating habits.
