Taco Bell Unveils New Menu Innovations For 2024

Taco Bell came to Las Vegas to create as much noise as the Super Bowl itself, causing an industry-felt buzz with the splashy announcement of new menu innovations coming in 2024 via the brand’s landmark and star-studded Live Más Live event. Below are some of the most notable items that fans can expect from Taco Bell this year.

Baja Blast Pie

Your eyes do not deceive you here, friends. This is Taco Bell’s beloved Baja Blast in pie form. Looks like an April Fool’s item, sure, but the truth is that this dessert is speculated to release later in 2024. Think of it as a key lime pie with attitude. And yes, Baja Blast in pie form just seems to work and was surprisingly delicious.

Crispy Chicken Nuggets

First announced as a test item back in October 2023, Taco Bell’s Crispy Chicken Nuggets will enjoy a limited-time nationwide release later this year.

Tajín Crunchy Taco

Tajín’s bold flavors are teaming up with Taco Bell classics in a new menu test this year. The lineup includes the Tajín Crunchy Taco, Tajín Twists, and Tajín Strawberry Freeze. I tried the Tajín Crunchy Taco and was wowed by the flavor, which can be credited to the hard taco shell getting the Doritos Locos treatment, just with Tajín.

Taco Bell x Salt & Straw Ice Cream Chocolate Taco

Salt & Straw, known for its innovative ice cream flavors, has linked with Taco Bell to introduce the Taco Bell x Salt & Straw Ice Cream Chocolate Taco, featuring hand-pressed waffle cones, cinnamon ancho ice cream dipped in single-origin chocolate, and topped with toasted brown rice, sweet sauces, and dips. This collab is currently in the test item pipeline for 2024 and provides a tasty replacement to the beloved, yet discontinued, Choco Taco.

Avocado Verde Salsa

Avocado Verde Salsa is a new addition to Taco Bell’s sauce lineup and will be featured prominently in the new Cantina Chicken Menu. Also, this is a look at the new sauce packet design that Taco Bell will be rolling out later this year.

Cantina Chicken Menu

Speaking of the new Cantina Chicken Menu, it will feature oven-roasted, shredded chicken seasoned with Mexican spices like pasilla and various chilies. The menu includes new ingredients like purple cabbage, pico de gallo, a white corn taco shell, and the aforementioned Avocado Verde Salsa. This new menu will include the Cantina Chicken Burrito, Cantina Chicken Taco (soft or crispy), Cantina Chicken Quesadilla, and the Cantina Chicken Bowl.

Cheesy Street Chalupas

Introducing the Cheesy Street Chalupas: a flatbread stuffed with a blend of mozzarella and pepper jack cheeses, fried and filled with slow-roasted chicken or grilled marinated steak, flavorful sauce, and topped with diced onions and cilantro. Call it double decked out. Each order includes two Cheesy Street Chalupas. This new menu item is in the testing pipeline of 2024 and should have exact availability soon.

Cheesy Chicken Crispanada

Launching nationwide on February 15, the Cheesy Chicken Crispanada is a melty affair that features tender chicken slow-cooked with garlic, tomato, and onion, combined with a blend of monterey pepper jack, cheddar, and mozzarella cheeses. All of this is encased in a delicate pastry dough crisped to perfection, inspired by the beloved empanada.

Cheesy Enchilada Dipping Taco

Expanding on the popular Grilled Cheese Dipping Taco from last year, Taco Bell introduces the Cheesy Enchilada Dipping Taco. This new version includes slow-roasted chicken and a layered enchilada dipping sauce for added inspiration. Available to fans for a limited time at participating locations, while supplies last.

Taco Bell x Disha Hot Sauce

Musician Omar Apollo’s family hot sauce, Disha Hot, a cherished secret recipe passed down for generations, is now exclusively featured as a sauce packet at Taco Bell.

Taco Bell’s iconic Cinnabon Delights are getting treated to a new Dulce de Leche flavor, which provide a bust of sweetness inside from dulce de leche.

Besides these new menu innovations, Taco Bell is giving its Rewards Members the power to choose this year’s limited-time menu item again. Fans can vote between team Mexi Melt and team Caramel Apple Empanada on the Taco Bell app, continuing the tradition of putting menu decisions in the hands of the customers.

All menu items and details of their availability are subject to change, so stay tuned to Foodbeast for the latest related news and updates.
