Subway’s $5 Featured Footlong for May is a Pizza, in a Sandwich

Not necessarily reminiscent of an item that would have helped Subway spokesperson Jared lose 245 pounds, Subway’s ‘Pizza Sub‘ may not be a permanent menu fixture, but employees can still make it upon request.

For the month of May, the Italian-inspired sandwich will be the $5 featured footlong. For those unfamiliar, the “pizza sub” is a toasted sandwich complete with cheese, tomato sauce and pepperoni as the base, with whatever veggie options your heart cares to include.

Move over Bacon, Egg & Cheese sandwich, it’s time for the Pizza Sub to get a little shine.
