Subway Feeds Into American Pickleball Obsession With Its New Sandwich
Pickleball, the paddle sport that took Americans by storm during the pandemic, is getting its own sandwich at Subway. The sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong is now a sandwich sold at Subway dubbed the “Pickleball Club.”
Not only is the sandwich named after an up-and-coming sport, but the sub chain also partnered with tennis star Andy Roddick to inspire the latest creation.
The Pickleball Club is the chain’s take on the traditional club sandwich by showcasing Subway’s two newest ingredients: new, more flavorful Honey Mustard and thicker, crunchier dill pickles.
The Pickleball Club is also loaded with Black Forest ham, double the American cheese, crispy hickory smoked bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and red onions — all on Subway’s Artisan Italian bread.
Subway was also a sponsor of the inaugural Pickleball Slam, which took place at Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida in April.
Now if Pickleball can get its own sandwich at Subway, what other sport can?
