Folks Are Lining Up At A New Souplantation-Style Restaurant In Southern California

Southern California foodies gotta get ready for a blast from the past, because a new all-you-can-eat spot in Rancho Cucamonga is stirring up memories of the beloved Souplantation. “Soup ‘n Fresh,” a family-run joint that just had its soft opening on February 28, is causing a buzz already in the Southland for its homage to the beloved buffet.

Located at a former Souplantation location on Foothill Boulevard and Vineyard Avenue, Soup ‘n Fresh is taking it back with a similar setup. The hype appears to be real, with long lines snaking around the parking lot as eager diners couldn’t wait to dive into their favorite soups and salads.

The restaurant’s aesthetic mirrors the Souplantation experience, where you start your meal by crafting a hearty salad loaded with toppings. Once that’s conquered, you venture into the main dining area to indulge in an all-you-can-eat feast.

The menu is a throwback to the Souplantation days, featuring a variety of soups, pasta, focaccia pizza, baked goods, beverages, baked and sweet potatoes, desserts, and more. The ambiance is familiar, too, with an open-concept dining space, bright interiors, and plenty of seating options.

For those who mourned the loss of Souplantation when its parent company, Garden Fresh Restaurants, closed all 97 locations in 2020, Soup ‘n Fresh offers a glimmer of hope. Officially opening its doors on April 2, the restaurant is currently in soft-opening mode, welcoming diners to provide feedback on the food and overall experience.

Co-owners have been active on social media, expressing their gratitude for the enthusiastic response since the soft opening. Soup ‘n Fresh is operating from Sunday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and extending its hours until 9:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
