Shin Sen Gumi

With a name taken from a historical samurai group who fought during troubled times in Japan, “shin sin gu-me” is definitely a place that blends an aggressive force with a soothing atmosphere. The place is loud, yet quaint, small yet open, and with 9 locations now sprawling over Southern California and a location in Japan, you know these guys are doing something right. We decided to jump into a big bowl of what they had to offer at their Fountain Valley location, join us!

First thing you’ll notice here, is that the staff does nothing secretly. Your order, your entrance to the restaurant, everything is loudly uttered and the vibe is eccentric. Above you see one of our boys keeping the noodles coming with ferocity.

Survival kit.

So I heard there is a nice little room back here, private, dark, and you sit on the floor and eat. Next time?

Check out their website for a full menu for everyone of their 9 locations, and tons of other information.
