Salt Bae Crashing Argentina’s World Cup Trophy Celebration Was Some Major Cringe

The internet is roasting celebrity chef, Nusret Gokce AKA Salt Bae, after his cringeworthy clout chase during Argentina’s World Cup trophy celebrations.

In many photos and videos posted to Salt Bae’s Instagram account, he can be seen posing with Argentinian players, biting medals, and even grabbing the World Cup trophy, which according to FIFA rules, “can only be touched and held by a very select group of people, which includes former winners of the FIFA World Cup and heads of state.” Since Salt Bae is neither a former World Cup winner or a head of state, fans were quick to voice their displeasure with him breaking the rules.

One Twitter user commented, “Unfollowing you, you shouldn’t have touched that trophy only the players and staff who worked their asses off to become champions have that right. You only want attention.” Another chimed in, “Fcking absurd. Who let Saltbae out on the pitch? Saw a bunch of photos of him HOLDING the World Cup trophy, and even a picture of him biting on a medal.”

Salt Bae was seen hamming it up in front of cameras with players who were visibly uncomfortable with his desperate attempts to insert himself into the limelight. Lionel Messi, however, knew better and was caught snubbing Salt Bae during an embarrassing exchange where the restaurateur tried desperately to get the soccer legend’s attention.

Clout chasing’s a disease and it looks like Salt Bae caught a wild case of it last night at Lusail Stadium.
