Ruby's MotoDiner: Irvine Spectrum

This tuesday at the Irvine Spectrum (CA), Ruby’s Diner will be launching a new dining concept titled “Ruby’s MotoDiner”. The Newport Beach-based chain has developed what they describe as a 1950s-themed restaurant that will serve a “Ruby’s greatest hits menu”, bolstered by 24 new contemporary dishes. Doug Cavanaugh, Ruby’s founder describes, “It really is Ruby’s all grown up.” This new “grown up” concept features the classic nostalgic features of the old entities, but are now accented with shades of black, yellow and salmon to provide a daring new aesthetic.

In celebration of the restaurants opening on Tuesday (December 9th, 2008) and in celebration of Ruby Diner’s 26th anniversary, starting Monday (the day before the opening) all Southern California Ruby’s Diner locations will offer the original RubyBurger and French Fries for only $2.60 (normally $8.49). If that isn’t enough to wet your whistle, our friends over at the OCRegister let us know that at the new Irvine location, the day before the opening on Monday, between the hours of 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., Ruby’s will be handing out free Cinnamon Rolls (it will be the only food they are offerring that day). Speculation is stirring that Ruby (the founder’s mother),might be present for the giveaway.

(Thx OCRegister/Ruby’s)
