These Lawmakers May Have Gotten Sick From The Very RAW MILK They Were Defending

In an election year as nauseating as 2016 has been, it’s nice to know politicians are still fighting to make America better, and what better way to show American pride than by granting citizens the freedom to drink raw animal milk without sweatin’ the man?

Drinking raw, unpasteurized milk, straight from an animal, without pesky testing and disease control will soon be legal, so how did supporting lawmakers in West Virginia celebrate? By drinking raw milk, of course. Only problem is they all mysteriously got sick soon after.

On March 3, West Virginia Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin signed a bill into law, that will allow people to drink and purchase raw milk through, “herd sharing” agreements, and will take effect in May.

However, when it does become legal to consume raw milk, choose wisely, because it still sounds pretty sketchy.

Multiple news reports have confirmed that after the law was passed,  Delegate Scott Cadle (ironic because of cattle and milk) brought raw milk to the Capitol building to celebrate. But, some delegates became sickened with an unknown illness, shortly after consuming the raw milk.

One of the delegates, Pat McGeehan, describes himself as several things on his Twitter page but also as a, “Member of the WV House of Delegates,” looked grimly sick when the camera was rolling. But, denies it was caused by raw milk.

No, this video is not from “The Onion” but, it’s hilarious to hear McGeehan continuously deny unpasteurized, raw milk as the cause to what appears to be a brutal attack on the digestive system. Again, this was filmed after he drank raw milk.

An investigation is now underway by the West Virginia Department of Health And Human Resources to determine if Cadle broke any laws by purchasing and sharing raw milk, well before the new dairy laws have actually taken effect.

But, Cadle ain’t no snitch.

“I might have been breaking the law,” Cadle told the Charleston Gazette-Mail. “Hell, I don’t know. I gave it away. ”

Cadle told the Charleston Gazette-Mail that the sickness was a, “big germ,” caused by, “close quarters.” To be fair, it was reported that people that did not drink the raw milk had become ill.

“Several legislators who’ve been sick with stomach viruses did not sample the raw milk. “A lot of people get sick every year we go down there,” Cadle said. “They call it the Capitol crud.”

It’s needless to say that pasteurized milk is significantly safer to drink than raw milk, which is classified as, “milk from cows, goats, sheep, or other animals that has not been pasteurized.” Pasteurization, is a heating method that will eliminate disease-causing germs, like, e-coli and salmonella,” according to the Centers for Disease Control. So, you can see the irony of the lawmakers’ current tummy aches.

Enjoy that raw milk.
