Questlove Launches Plant-Based ‘Impossible Cheesesteaks’ Across The U.S.
Impossible Foods, known for its plant-based meat innovations, is getting into the Philly cheesesteak business, and has teamed up with one of Philadelphia’s proudest natives, Questlove.
Questlove, famously known as the drummer for The Legendary Roots Crew — you know, that iconic hip hop group that casually backs up Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show — will debut his cheesesteak at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park on March 28th.
“As a non vegan/vegetarian I still fell in love with @impossiblefoods for several years,” Questlove said in an Instagram post. “And as a Philadelphian….well — I gotta know Cheesesteaks right?”
The Questlove Cheesesteak will consist of Impossible’s 2.0 meat, a “special cheese blend,” peppers and onions, all on an amoroso roll.
The cheese is not specifically vegan, but with the cheesesteak being available in several sports venues, you can always ask for their customization options, especially if you’re trying to make the sandwich cheese-less and vegan.
The musician also said through a press release that they tested the Impossible-based cheesesteak at the annual “Roots Picnic” festival in 2018, and no one could believe it was not actually meat.

While the meat-free cheesesteak will debut in Philly, it will be available at 40 Live Nation venues.
From the Five Point Amphitheater in Irvine, California, to the Ford Amphitheater in Brooklyn, New York, there will be coast to coast representation of the new plant-based cheesesteak.
There are plans to expand the availability of the Questlove Cheesesteak, but for now, you can catch it at every Phillies home game this season, and the 40 Live Nation Venues listed below:
