Meat Advertising May Lead to Printed Pork Chops
For IDEO’s WebDev101 sessions, designer Ivy Hu experimented with laser-cutting to make posters on unconventional objects: like meat. Yes, your steak might soon be full of advertiser’s messages, your burgers emblazoned with logos, your pork chops printed with fonts.
Hu created a laser-etched meat poster containing printed words and details, proving printing on meat is possible. Which of course raises the question, if ads are printed on meat, will advertising soon be truly inescapable? Umami already brands their buns with their logo, so Big Mac patties with laser-etched arches aren’t too far fetched.
