Portillo’s Is Bringing Back Their Legendary Lemon Cake For A Limited Time

Portillo’s Hot Dogs certainly knows how to give the internet what it wants.

After bringing back their iconic lemon cake for one Reddit user’s request a few months ago, the Chicago hot dog icon has decided to bring it back as a mainstay on their menu after a prolonged hiatus.

For those of you who missed out on that feel-good tale the first time around, Redditor BigBen2010 put up a $300 bounty on the site for anyone who could get him the recipe to Portillo’s lemon cake. When the restaurant saw the post, they decided to give him the top-secret lemon cake recipe AND treated him to two additional cakes on the house.

The aftermath of those events has been astonishing. Since BigBen2010 got his cake, Portillo’s has been receiving a massive amount of inquiries for the cake, and decided to put it back on the official menu for a limited time. From now until July 31st, you can go get yourself a slice or whole cake at any Portillo’s location nationwide. Prices are the same as their regular chocolate cake, with a slice costing $2.99 and a whole cake going for $19.49.

If you’ve been longing to get a taste of Portillo’s lemon cake just one more time, like Ben did, now’s your chance.
