Pikachu Happy Meals Are Making Their Way Back to McDonald’s

As if Grimace’s birthday meal wasn’t enough to celebrate at McDonald’s, the fast food chain is reportedly reintroducing their Pokemon collaboration with Pikachu Happy Meals and 15 new Pokemon cards.

The news first leaked on PokeBeach, a Pokemon fan site, that this collaboration is set to drop first in Germany and Austria, with the U.K. drop date not far behind in late August. Rumors of a U.S. drop date have yet to be leaked.

According to the popular fan site, 15 new Pokemon cards will be released with the Happy Meals, stemming from both the Pokemon Violet and Pokemon Scarlet trading card games. The only character not from these two series, of course, is Pikachu. Each Happy Meal will include a booster pack of four cards, one being holographic.

The Pokemon craze resurgence came in two waves with the release of Pokemon Go and the pandemic. McDonald’s capitalized on this revived nostalgia by releasing limited edition Pokemon Happy Meals in 2021, which caused locations around the world to sell out instantly. Some fans went as far as ordering mass amounts of Happy Meals hoping to score rare cards.

Looks like we gotta catch ’em all again.
