Pepsi Next Arriving in 2012

Looks like Pepsi is launching another new soda at the beginning of the new year. So, is Pepsi Next a diet soda? Short answer: kind of. It seems as though the soft drink company has let go of trying to make a zero calorie soda between their Diet Pepsi line and their Regular cola line and have opted to try for what’s being referred to as a “mid-calorie soda.”

Pepsi Next will have 60 calories per serving, which is already less than half the calorie count from their original Pepsi line. It’s been my experience that the presence of calories generally means a presence of taste, so I’m betting this soda ought to taste pretty darn close to the original Pepsi with about half as much caloric guilt. In any event, keep an eye out for this one at the beginning of 2012.
