Pepsi Creates Cola-Infused Ketchup Called Colachup

For the first time ever, Pepsi has created a condiment that literally no one ever asked for: Introducing Colachup. If you were wondering what the ingredients are, well, it’s exactly as its spelt — cola and ketchup.

Now why in the world would someone eat ketchup and cola in one? Truth be told, we already do. The experts have spoken, \ including the Culinary Institute of America and legendary competitive eater Joey Chestnut, who said the best way to eat a hot dog is with a refreshing ice cold Pepsi.

“I’m thrilled to be partnering with Pepsi to show America that hot dogs go better with Pepsi,” said Joey Chestnut, 15-time hot dog eating champion. “People might be surprised, but outside of competitions I love eating hot dogs at a more leisurely pace, and there’s no better way to eat a hot dog — steamed, grilled, or fried — than with a perfectly cool and crisp Pepsi.”

Colachup is infused with Pepsi (of course) and a variety of ingredients such as smoked tomatoes; a blend of spices including cinnamon, thyme, oregano and paprika; plus onions and ketchup.

Getting a sample of Colachup won’t be as easy as picking it off of a grocery shelf or ordering online. The limited-edition sauce is only available for one day on July 4 at four US ballparks: Chase Field in Phoenix, Yankee Stadium in New York City, Target Field in Minneapolis and Comerica Park in Detroit. If you don’t already have a ticket to a game at those stadiums then you better buy one now.
