Peanut Butter Slices

Nice! Peanut butter is amazing, so sometimes I’d snag a spoonful on my way out. It was obviously a heavenly treat to snack on, but when I was done I would always be holding a spoon like an idiot. So I would just throw it out. Lots of innocent spoons got lost cause of this bad habit.

Those days are long gone now that I’ve seen these. Individually wrapped peanut butter slices, perfectly sized for a sandwich. Move your ass movable type, there is a new game-changing invention in town. Snacking on PB or making grilled PB & Banana sandwiches just got so much easier. Each slice has 170 calories and 6 g of protein. According to their website, it took creator Stewart Kennedy more than 5,000 pounds of peanut butter, 4 years, thousands of feet of plastic wrap and 432 formulations to find the perfect P.B. Slices recipe.

Erin Zimmer at Serious Eats points out a drawback of this design: no more licking the spoon or butter knife after you’ve made a sandwich. Damn. Wonderful invention nonetheless. [thanks Serious Eats!]
