Patton Oswalt Dined Alone At Arby’s In A Bittersweet Post-Emmy Celebration
Last night, Patton Oswalt won an Emmy for outstanding writing on his variety special Talking For Clapping. Shortly after the ceremony, Oswalt posted a photo of himself sitting alone outside of an Arby’s with a bottle of liquor and some fast food staring off into the distance.

While initially the Twitter post came off as funny, it’s actually pretty heartbreaking the more you dig into the story behind it.
Earlier this year, Oswalt’s wife Michelle McNamara passed away in her sleep at age 46. This Emmy will be the first major award Oswalt has won since his wife’s passing.
Backstage at the Emmys, the Veep actor told reporters that “it seems like the lights have been turned down 50 percent on everything” since her passing.
The true crime writer was survived by Oswalt and their 7-year-old daughter Alice.
