Guy Tries To Rob A Starbucks, Gets Brutally Beaten By Old Man

A guy tried to rob a Starbucks in Fresno, California this past week, and it didn’t turn out the way he hoped at all.

After brandishing a toy gun and a real knife at the cashier, demanding money, robber Ryan Flores suddenly found himself getting walloped by the business end of a metal chair, courtesy of elderly customer Craig Jerri. A struggle then ensued between the two, and while Jerri received a non-fatal stab to the neck, he managed to wrestle the knife away from the burglar and inflicted multiple stab wounds before Flores was able to make his escape.

Police later found the suspected thief in a nearby canal and took him into custody after treating him for his injuries.

While Craig Jerri should be considered a hero for his actions, it definitely wasn’t the smartest idea to attack an armed robber, as evidenced by the neck wound the Good Samaritan suffered. Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer expressed his gratitude that things didn’t get uglier than they did.

“It’s not something we recommend. In this case, it was a good outcome. No one died as a result of this incident but very well could have. But nonetheless, he’s a hero – there’s no question.”

So while you shouldn’t try to replicate what happened here at home, we can all be thankful that Jerri stepped in to prevent a serious crime.
