OC Wine Mart: Self-Serve Wine Bar Debuts in Irvine, CA

wine-bar

With an optimistic view on the local Orange County wine market, the less-than-1-year-old OC Wine Mart has opted to spend $50,000 on two new Italian-made, self-serving wine bars. These crazy machines keep wine in an oxygen-free environment after they are opened and will automatically measure out one-ounce sample pours for their customers. Reds are served at room temperature, whites pour out at 55 degrees fahrenheit; argon and carbon dioxide are injected into the bottle in order to prevent oxygenation and keeps the wine proper for up to three weeks. Digital readouts will give you the prices above each wine you’re pouring. (Thx OCR)
