Russian Launches ‘Novichok Cooking Oil,’ Named After Nerve Agent That Poisoned Former Spy

Alexei Yakushev is the most savage Russian businessman out there. Who else is gonna go as far as to create “Novichok Cooking Oil” in honor of the nerve agent used in a recent assassination attempt?

Novichok is the class of nerve agent used to poison former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter not that long ago. According to the Moscow Times, the oil named after the toxin won’t contain any itself, but is instead a simple sunflower oil. It’s all about the packaging for this product, though, which shows off the KGB insignia, the Novichok nerve agent, and the motto “products for a long life.”

Russia is currently denying they had any involvement with Skripal’s poisoning, making Novichok cooking oil more of a satirical middle finger to the world than it is poking fun at the Kremlin.
