Infographic Shows KFC is the Most Popular Fast Food Brand in the World

We all have our go-to’s when it comes to fast food spots. You might yuck my yum that is In-N-Out, whereas I might thumbs down your choice in Five Guys. Which is why I always find it fascinating to come across infographics that illustrate what our faves look like at a much larger scale.

A new study and infographic by BusinessFinancing revealed the most popular fast food brands in the world. Though off the top I thought it would be McDonald’s, as a fried chicken enthusiast, I was pleasantly surprised to see KFC taking the top spot as most popular fast food chain around the globe.

BusinessFinancing determined this by analyzing data behind the most-searched fast food chain in every country in 2022. The Colonel’s Original Recipe apparently was on a lot of folks’ minds globally, earning the most searches as found by the study.

What’s more, the study revealed other interesting key findings:

  • Despite McDonald’s’ worldwide reach, KFC is actually the most searched fast food chain overall (#1 in 83 countries)
  • McDonald’s is the most searched fast food spot in 40 countries including the U.S., Canada, and China.
  • Pizza is a favorite among many countries with Pizza Hut and Domino’s as the 3rd & 5th most searched fast food brands.
