Watch A Coconut Explode With Nothing More Than Molten Table Salt

A couple of months ago we learned that molten salt can be pretty powerful, as a man who goes by the name of the Backyard Scientist completely shattered a fish tank with it.

The guy is at it again, but now he’s testing his hot salt on fruits such as watermelons and coconuts.

Using a makeshift furnace, the Backyard scientist melted the salt at about 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit.

When he applied the molten salt to the watermelon, a nice little blast took place, but the coconut really got the worst part of this experiment, getting completely obliterated.

The coconut’s explosion probably caused the neighborhood to freak out a bit, but it didn’t seem like any authorities were called on the explosive scientist.
