McDonald’s Is Using Snapchat To Hire 250,000 Employees This Summer

Looking for some work for the summer? All you need is your smartphone and Snapchat to get the hiring process started at McDonald’s.

The fast food chain announced an advertising campaign to help hire 250,000 new employees for jobs around the United States in its restaurants, CNBC reports. Starting today, you’ll be able to find ads while browsing Snapchat that showcase testimonials from McDonald’s employees. Swiping up on those will take you to the McDonald’s career page and allow you to fill out a job application for your local franchise.

Using Snapchat as a way to fill job vacancies isn’t new for McDonald’s, as they utilized the app in Australia earlier this year to hire new staff. However, instead of the ads being used in the United States, McDonald’s Australia utilized an unlockable Snapchat filter that you could use to submit a “Snaplication” in ten seconds or less.

McDonald’s apparently isn’t stopping at Snapchat to draw in new hires, as they also told CNBC that ads will also be launching on Hulu and Spotify to reach job seekers.

Snapchat, Hulu, and Spotify are all great places to reach potential staffers between the ages of 16 to 24, which comprise over half of McDonald’s workforce. Thus, using these applications and more to broadcast job opportunities should help the chain acquire the numbers they are looking to add.
