McDonald’s is Releasing Plant-Based “Chicken” McNuggets

If you’re planning on going vegetarian or vegan for Lent, McDonald’s is making it that much easier with the release of their plant-based McNuggets. After the success of their plant-based burger, the McPlant, back in 2021, McDonald’s has partnered with Beyond Meat to create a plant-based alternative to their world-famous McNuggets.

Beyond Meat has teamed up with other fast food chains in the past—most notably KFC and Panda Express—so this new addition feels like a match made in heaven. Derived from wheat, corn, and peas, these nuggets are sure to give us that same signature flavor as the OG McNuggets.

The good news? This new release will be hitting more than 1,400 McDonald’s! The not-so-good news? All of those locations are in Germany. McDonald’s has acknowledged the success of their plant-based products overseas versus here in the states but we hope to see this new innovation shortly. If you ever needed an excuse to renew your passport, this is it.
