McDonald’s Austria is Doing Chicken for Breakfast

Could the renewed focus on chicken items at fast food restaurants be a sign of the times? Burger bloggers seem to think so. With commodity prices currently favoring chicken over beef, McDonald’s seems to be promoting chicken on its menu moreso than usual. What’s more interesting is McDonald’s Austria and their new breakfast chicken sandwich menu additions.

The new items include a McMorning Chicken, a breakfast sandwich topped with lettuce and tomato served on a kaiser roll. Along for the ride is also a McMorning Bacon sandwich and a bit more traditional ham-and-cheese Breakfast wrap. While these menu items aren’t huge indicators of a larger chicken presence on the American breakfast menu, it is indeed interesting to see chicken prominently available as a breakfast item in other parts of the world.

McDonald’s American chicken offerings on the breakfast menu is currently limited to the Southern-Style Chicken Biscuit. Do you think more chicken items should be available on the breakfast menu at McDonald’s?
