Mario Batali Includes Cinnamon Roll Recipe In His Sexual Misconduct Apology
This past week, accusations made against Mario Batali of sexual misconduct have seen him lose his role on The Chew and the removal of his products from most stores, amid other consequences. While he had previously released a public apology in a statement, a second one e-mailed out in his newsletter generated even more backlash against the chef.
MARIO BATALI: How do we address the sexual harassment?
PR TEAM: With a heartfelt apology.
MB: A cinnamon roll recipe should do the trick.
PR: That’s a horrible idea.
MB: Yeah, let’s go with that.
PR: You need to apologize.
MB: OK. Quick apology and then rolls.

At the end of his new statement, Mario Batali included a recipe for “Pizza Dough Cinnamon Rolls” for those reading his expression of regret. Of course, the tasteless act led to Twitter blasting him for the outrageous plug.

Mario Batali “apologized” for sexually harassing women then provided a cinnamon roll recipe. “Women, sorry I degraded you, now get back in the kitchen and cook bitch.”

Batali and his team have yet to respond to the latest round of backlash.
