Maestro: New Pop Top Champagne Opening System

Similar to the regular champagne top but the main difference lies in the newly instituted large lever that pours over the side. Of the first to utilize this new closure system is Duval-Leroy, putting it on their cuvee Clos des Bouveries Vintage 2004. Apparently, gone is the abrasive popping noise, but the closure does allow a soft popping noise, and is notably faster than the previous opening methods. Luxist reports that “the process is more like opening a can of soda than opening a wine bottle”. Who knows if this closure system will catch on, but if it does, expect rappers to change their lyrics from “popping bottles and drenching titties” to “pulling levers and gracefully pouring liquid on female anatomy”.
