Las Vegas Resort Revamps Nachos After Viral Photo Reveals Pitiful $24 Order
Although Sin City is known for gambling, one thing no one likes to do is gamble with their food. That’s certainly how Mike Herman felt recently when charged $24 for a niblet of nachos. The paltry serving size was so upsetting that he decided to share a picture on X. The post now has over 1.4 million views thanks to disappointed nacho lovers around the world.
The Fontainebleau is a new resort in Las Vegas that just opened on December 13, 2023, so one can imagine that this isn’t the sort of press the resort was hoping to receive. According to BroBible, the person that shared their order of nachos said that they had to wait an hour for them. Once they finally arrived, the waiter brought a plate of six tortilla chips in total, covered in cheese, and accompanied by side toppings.

Naturally opportunistic, a few neighboring casinos took indirect shots at the Fontainebleau, showing followers “how it’s supposed to be done.” For example, at OYO Hotel & Casino, a plate of nachos comes with 50+ tortilla chips, loaded with toppings, for just $17.99. Even more affordable, Four Queens Hotel & Casino upped the ante with its cheesy pulled pork nachos, which cost only $12.99.

Social media was set ablaze by people criticizing the exorbitant cost, and just as quickly as the Fontainebleau’s nachos went viral, the resort overhauled them with a heartier helping of nachos, even lowering the price to $22.76. That’s still more expensive than others, but who knows, maybe Las Vegas’ latest strip resident has some serious overhead. The moral of the story is that bullying is never okay, except for when a major casino is trying to rip you off.
