Kids Getting Pencils & Stickers for Halloween?

According to an article from the Associated Press, some parents are choosing to hand out toys such as Play-Doh, stickers or pencils instead on candy during Halloween. This move is to prevent the amount of sugar children eat and battle obesity (30% of children ages 2-19 are overweight). To prevent their kids from gorging on pillowcases of sugary treats, come parents are trying to entice their children into trading their candy in for toys, money or books.

Geez, is this how Halloween works nowadays? I don’t think it’ll fly with the children. Keep this up and we’re asking for naptime marches demanding Laffy Taffy and Twix. Let them have candy! Read the full article here.
