Jimmy John’s Delivery Biker Hit By Cop Car, Then Gets Arrested

This poor Jimmy John’s delivery biker just had one of the worst days of his life.

While cycling back from a delivery, Miami-area Jimmy John’s deliveryman Mason Morales got hit by a cop. The police officer was driving an unmarked vehicle and struck Morales’ back wheel. Morales was in plain view of the car and in the crosswalk, so there’s no valid reason as to why the officer didn’t stop. Additionally, Morales believes the officer, Kenia Fallat, was on the phone and didn’t see him. Considering Fallat had nearly him him before in the past while on the phone, Morales made a pretty solid guess.

Unfortunately, while getting hit is bad enough, Morales had something worse coming.

Morales continually deals with aggressive drivers on his route, and his frustration with them reached a boiling point. Thus, his first reaction to getting hit was to toss his bike at the car, leaving a dent on the passenger side door. Then, the cop emerged from the vehicle, and Morales saw her uniform and knew he was in for it.

Despite clearly being at fault for the accident, Officer Fallat detained Morales until backup arrived. An astonishing ten cops showed up, searched Morales, and then arrested him in the middle of the street. He was later ticketed for “failing to yield the right of way” and charged with criminal mischief for the $500 of damage he did to the car.

Morales was then jailed until about 3 a.m., when his mom posted bail to get him out.

Miami police and Officer Fallat, who is a spokesperson for the department, both declined to comment on the incident when reached by the Miami Herald.
