Pizza-Loving New Yorkers Pissed That Jets QB Likes Domino’s

As soon as you take a step on New York soil, you can turn your head in any direction and find a classic pizzeria.

Domino’s isn’t, and never will be one of those classic pizzerias.

New York Jets rookie quarterback Bryce Petty is obviously new in town and doesn’t know how seriously New Yorkers take their pizza as he blissfully Tweeted how awesome Dominos’ pizza emoji campaign is.

For those not familiar with Dominos’ social media influence, you can set up an account through their ‘Anyware‘ ordering system and simply text a pizza emoji to @Domino’s whenever you want a pizza sent to you.

All that’s fine, unless you’re a hardcore, born-and-raised New Yorker and only let sweaty Italians named Ray make your pizza pie.

New Yorkers must feel that eating Domino’s pizza is equivalent to Californians preferring Taco Bell over a mom-and-pop Mexican food joint.

When young Petty sent out that Tweet, New Yorkers immediately, and understandably let him know that Domino’s is not adequate pizza for those living the NY life.

Those kind of replies go on for a while.

Petty was called out and had his sins placed right in front of him. He apologized soon after.

Even Domino’s wasn’t bold enough to try and fight the New York fans. They conceded that Bryce should take advantage of New York’s legendary pizza slices, but also suggested that he grab some Domino’s while on the road and has no access to the yankee pizza parlors.

Yes, technology is impressive, but know your fan base, Bryce.

And don’t you dare go to Texas and get excited for a McRib when you can easily find a Lockhart Smokehouse, or pretty much any decent BBQ joint within a mile of anywhere.
